1,251,046. Polymerizing dodecanolactam. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 23 Jan., 1969 [12 Feb., 1968], No. 6577/71. Divided out of 1,251,045. Addition to 1,206,423. - Heading C3R. Dodecanolactam is polymerized in the presence of a catalytic amout of an organic sulphonic acid and an amount, sufficient to enhance the activity thereof of an N-acyl lactam. Reference is made to Specifications 1,206,422 and 1,206,423 divided therefrom which are modified by the present invention. Specified N- acyl lactams are N-acetyl caprolactam and N- acetyl dodecanolactam which may be formed in situ by addition of acetic anhydride.
