Abstract

1,248,876. Storage racks. ELECTROLUX A.B. May 1, 1970 [May 9, 1969], No.21046/70. Heading A4B. An upright 11 for receiving horizontal support beams 4 of a storage rack is generally U-shaped in horizontal cross-section, the canes of the upright being recessed at 7 and 8, the recesses having openings 9 and 10 for accomodating hook members fitted at the end of the support beam. The openings in one bent-in portion are adapted so as to only accept the hook members at one end of the support beam 4 which hook members extend parallel to the beam, the openings in the other bent portion being adapted so as to only accept the hook members of the other end of the beam, these second hook members extending generally perpendicularly to the beam's axis. This may be accomplished as in Fig. 9, where A and C will allow insertion of the hooks, but B and D will not. Alternatively, the openings may be spaced from the apex of the bent-in portion. Locking means 60, 61 and 62 may be provided to wedge the middle tongue of the hook assembly inserted into beam 2 in one of the openings 9. Further flanges may also be provided to enable the beams to be connected to the upright by nuts and bolts. Reinforcing plates 22 may connect the open mouth of the U-shaped uprights.
