Abstract
1,248,699. Longwall system. BERGWERKSVERBAND G.m.b.H. 11 Dec., 1969 [27 Dec., 1968], No. 60551/69. Heading E1P. A conveyor, forming part of a longwall system, is braced at each of several locations by a unit, viz trussed set 8, 9, of a self advancing roof support system extending behind the conveyor, the bracing means being connected to the conveyor by a thrusting device effective in the longitudinal direction of the conveyor. The bracing action is effected by means of a tie-beam 17, mobile in the direction of advance of the system, and to the front end of which is pivotally attached a hydraulic thrust-piston mechanism 26 which, in turn, is attached to a bracket 30 on the conveyor. The tie-beam is rendered mobile by means of a hydraulic thrust piston mechanism and is thus telescopically displaceable relative to a guide 16 connected to the unit.
