Abstract

1,246,220. Delivering sheets. WINDMOLLER & HOLSCHER. 14 April, 1969 [23 April, 1968], No. 18921/69. Heading B8R. Sheets S, Fig. 1, such as bag sections severed from a web W by a cylindrical cutter 1, are dropped into a feed path between conveyer belts 3, 4 moving more slowly than the cutter, and are fed in overlapping relationship round an inverting drum 6, and thence in underlapping relationship on to a stacking table 23 and against an abutment 29, being added to a stack S<SP>t</SP> from the bottom. The table is vibrated vertically on rubber springs 24 by a rotating eccentric mass.27. The table includes slide rails 31<SP>1</SP> , 31<SP>11</SP> , Fig. 2, over which run belts 28<SP>1</SP>, 28<SP>11</SP> so as to bow the sheets. If the vibrating movement has an upward and forward component, the belts can be omitted An air jet from a nozzle 33 lays the rear end of each sheet to be laid over a roller 10 to clear a path for the following sheet. A counter such as a photo-electric cell 22 switches on momentarily a motor 21 after a predetermined number of sheets has passed, and the motor 21 through an overrunning clutch 19 momentarily speeds up the belts 3, 4 to cause a visible reduction in overlap between batches of sheets and enable an operator to lift a counted batch off the table.
