Abstract

1,245,640. Feeding and delivering sheets. JAGENBERG-WERKE A.G. 27 Nov., 1968 [15 Dec., 1967; 7 June, 1968], No. 56203/68. Heading B8R. Blanks 4 are stacked and aligned against a stop 1 by friction belts 18 and friction rollers 13. The stack is supported upon rails 9 carried on pins 10 and biased upwardly by springs 12. When the stack reaches a predetermined size the combined weight thereof and the pressure due to rollers 13 and belts 18 forces rails 9 to descend between driven separator belts 5 until the lowermost blank is carried away by these belts and fed to belts 22, 23. The pressure of rollers 13 may be adjusted by springs 16 to ensure that the stack is maintained at a predetermined size during simultaneous stocking and separation. The device is used in connection with the production of tubular blanks having freshly gummed seams, the dwell of each blank in the stack allowing time for the newly gummed seam to set before the blank is conveyed onwards for further processing. The pressure rollers 13 and the belts 18 are arranged to press on both sides of the gummed seams.
