Abstract
1,245,380. Coating apparatus. AUSTRIA VEREINIGTE EMAILLIERWERKE LAMPEN UND METALL-WARENFABRIKEN A.G. 9 June, 1970 [9 June, 1969], No. 27930/ 70. Heading B2L. Apparatus for coating articles with enamel comprises a chamber 3 having a support 9 for the article 11, a suction pipe4, a valve arrangement 5, 6 to close the bottom of the pipe and a pipe 10 connected to a vacuum service 20 that the chamber can be evacuated and coating material drawn from a container when the valve 5, 6 is opened. The-valve 5, 6 is opened by a piston 13 movable in a compressed air cylinder 12 concentric with the tube 4 against the action of return springs 15. An enclosing sleeve bellows 17 is provided and the lid 8 of the chamber 3 is hingedly attached. In operation the valve 5, 6 is closed and the chamber 3 evacuated prior to opening valve 5, 6 to allow in the coating material. When the article is immersed valve 5, 6 is closed and air under pressure is pumped into chamber 3 to pressurise the coating material. The valve 5, 6 is subsequently opened and the chamber and pipe emptied.
