Abstract
1,243,444. Retarding action of switches. A. HOCHARD. 8 Aug., 1969 [13 Dec., 1968], No. 39861/69. Heading H1N. [Also in Division A4] In a windscreen cleaning installation when liquid is delivered by an electric pump to a windscreen washer nozzle it passes also via a check valve into a chamber to move a bladder B against the action of springs C, D to cause a contact E to bridge contacts F, G and complete the electrical circuit of a wiper motor. The check valve comprises a valve member A, which when open is lifted against a cross-member M and when closed against its annular seat permits a back flow of liquid through a central orifice H therein. When the washer pump is stopped the bladder B is actuated by the springs C, D to expel liquid through the orifice H, and, after a time delay, an enlargement on the rod carrying the contact E, which rod moves downwardly relatively to the latter at the commencement of the downward movement of the bladder B, disengages the contact E from the contacts F, G to de-energize the wiper motor.
