Abstract
1,241,945. Packaging. SMITH & NEPHEW RESEARCH Ltd. 19 July, 1968 [20 July, 19671, No. 33293/67. Heading B8C. An article is packaged by placing it inside or on a polyethylene bag 2, folding the bag about a line 7, and sealing the edges of the bag mouth 6 to each other and to the lower edge of the bag outside the bag lower seal 4. If the article is placed on the bag, side seals are also made. After the package has been opened, the bag 2 may be used for the disposal of the used article. The bag may, as illustrated, be formed of two sheets sealed together, or, where the article is to be placed in the bag, may be a tube sealed at one end. The bag may have an adhesive surface for suspending it while it is being used for disposal, and the package may include a length of wire for closing the bag after disposal. The article may be a hospital pack.
