Abstract
1,241,348. Dispensing liquids. COMPAGNIE DES COMPTEURS. 1 July, 1969 [1 Aug., 1968], No. 33145/69. Heading A4T. [Also in Division G3] An installation for dispensing metered quantities of liquid from a storage tank 1 'includes, in series arrangement in the downstream direction, a filter 4, a suction pump 7, an automatic shut-off valve 11, a meter 12 for measuring the volume of liquid dispensed, a non-return valve 24 and means 14, 15 for dispensing the liquid, wherein means are provided for maintaining a pressure difference across the shut-off valve when there is sufficient liquid available in the part of the system preceding the shutoff valve, which maintains the valve open. When there is insufficient liquid, the valve is closed. The means may be restricted orifice 8, communicating firstly with the suction side of the pump via 10, and secondly with valve member 11, at the opposite side of the valve. Arrangement 10 (Fig. 2, not shown) comprises a first duct communicating with line 9, and a bore through which a slide valve passes, this displacement of the slide being controlled by a diaphragm subjected on one face to atmospheric pressure, and on the other face to the intake pressure of the pump. A second duct communicates with the bore, and with the suction side of the pump, and is closable by a valve member controlled by a float.
