Abstract

1,240,906. Root crop harvesters. DNEPROPETROVSKY ZAVOD SELSKOKHOZYAISTVENNOGO MASHINOSTROENIA. 22 April, 1969, No. 20364/69. Heading A1F. A device for digging root crops comprises working units 2 inclined relative to each other with at least one of the units serving as a rotor and having its hub 3 coupled with a driving shaft 4 by means of a double-gimbal mounting. This mounting comprises a ring-shaped bushing 11 mounted inside the hub to a journal 15 on the drive shaft by means of pins 14 and to the hub by means of the pins 17 mounted perpendicularly to pins 14. In the embodiment the journal is secured on the shaft by means of splined grooves 16 made in the journal and projections 16 provided on a portion of the shaft. The pins 17 are rigidly secured by means of the straps 18 and bolts 19. In a further embodiment only one working unit in each pair of a two row crop harvester is driven.
