Abstract
1,240,357. Weft stop motions, shuttleless looms. SULZER BROS. Ltd. 13 Sept., 1968 [26 Sept., 1967], No. 43701/68. Heading DIE. A stop motion for a gripper shuttle loom with weft mixing or with weft selection allowing one weft, or more than one weft to be picked simultaneously, has means at the picking side of the loom to ensure that only the picked weft or wefts are sensed. A rocker 40 cooperates with a number of spring loaded blocking members 32 each attached to a weft guide 30 and each acted on by a comb 54 operated in conjunction with the weft selection mechanism. The stop motion may operate at any point in the weaving cycle and the comb, when moved by the selection mechanism allows, in the absence or lack of tension in the weft, the selected blocking member(s) to pivot to prevent the rotation of the rocker 40 to stop the loom. A pivoted weft feeler is also provided at the weft exit selvedge.
