Abstract
1,239,668. Cartons. KELLOGG CO. 2 May, 1969 [3 May, 1968], No. 22408/69. Heading B8P. When the upper closure flap 27 of a rectangular paperboard carton is torn from the lower closure flap 24, two substantially triangular areas 38 of the upper flap defined by slit lines 35, 36, 37, remain adhered to the lower flap. To subsequently close the carton, a tongue 26 on the forward edge of the upper flap is tucked in a slit 25 in the lower flap. The two closure flaps cover two dust flaps 19 and 21. The carton can be constructed from a single blank. The area of the upper closure flap not required to adhere to the lower closure flap can be covered by a lacquer or ink to ensure that no adhesive is applied to this area.
