Abstract
1,238,922. Briefs. W. W. ARTZT. 16 Aug., 1968 [2 April, 1968], No. 39345/68. Heading A3V. Legged or, as shown, legless briefs 10, Fig. 1, have a crotch lining 28 of preferably knitted polypropylene fabric to resist moisture penetration and facilitate rapid drying at body heat. The front of the bodyencircling portion 11 may be cut separately from the back and joined thereto by side seams but as shown a single blank 10a, Fig. 2, is used, to which the crotch lining is stitched at 24a, preferably by polypropylene thread. The edges 22a, 22b may be cut vertical instead of inclined, Fig. 8 (not shown). Elastic 33 is provided. Knitted or otherwise stretchable binding tapes 16, 17, 17a, 18, 18a are used, one or both of the tapes 17, 18 being secured only to the edges 26, 27 and the corresponding edges of the crotch lining so leave a fly opening or openings.
