Abstract

1,236,595. Ships accommodation ladders. SOHAT DAVITS Ltd. 19 Nov., 1968 [11 March, 1968], No. 11791/68. Heading E1S, An accommodation ladder for a ship comprises a pair of ladder sections 49 and 50 hinged to a platform 53 so that when in place vertical movement of the ship is compensated for by the movement of the sections relative to the platform. The platform and ladder sections may be supported by davits mounted on one or more trolleys which run on rails along the ship. There may be more than two ladder sections in the complete ladder (Figs. 1-3 not shown) and the lower ladder sections may be rotatably connected to the platform (Figs. 10-12 not shown). The trolley on which the support davits are mounted may move transversely as well as longitudinally of the ship.
