1,235,662. Protecting machine slideways. INDUSTRIAL TRADING CO. Ltd. 11 June, 1968 [27 April, 1967], No. 19436/67. Heading B3B. A protective wiper for the slideway 15 of a machine tool adapted to be mounted on a slide member 14 by bolts 13 comprises a rigid mounting member 10 and a rigid wiping strip 11 with a body 12 of resilient deformable material interposed between the strips and bonded thereto. The rear face of the body 12 is dimpled or ribbed. The wiper strip may have a wiping tip of hard material such as a cermet or cemented carbide.
