Abstract
1,233,181. Valves. HORNE ENG. CO. Ltd. 23 July, 1968 [10 Aug., 1967; 14 Oct., 1967], Nos. 36676/67 and 46951/67. Heading F2V. Thermostatic valve, e.g. for supply of heating fluid to a tank in accordance with the temperature of liquid to be heated, comprises a casing 2 with a partition having a seat 9 between inlet and outlet 3, 4, and a branch housing 6 facing the seat opening. The valve includes a rod-and-tube type thermostat of which the tube 31 carries a resilient closure disc 20, e.g. of P.T.F.E. mounted in a carrier 17 with an arrester element 19 which engages the seat after the disc has been compressed a certain amount, to prevent overcompression. The rod 32 is engaged by an adjustable abutment 14.
