Abstract

123,249. Osram - Robertson Lamp Works and Sack, T. J. May 30, 1918. Filaments, attaching; supports for. - A coiled filament is looped over spring arms c formed with hooks f and attached to the leading-in strips c. The arms c are of tungsten, molybdenum, &c. wire of about the same gauge as the filament so as to prevent loss of heat by conduction, the distance between the arms being such as to cause them to bend slightly when the filament is attached. The hooked support allows of angular movement of the filament due to temperature changes. The lamp bulb may be filled with gas such as argon.
