Abstract
1,232,298. Electric selective signalling. INTERNATIONAL COMPUTERS Ltd. 17 Sept., 1969 [20 Sept., 1968], No. 44940/68. Heading G4H. An alarm device includes a rotating magnet driven by a meter registering, e.g. gas consumption, and at least one magnetic reed switch energized each time a polepiece of the magnet passes it, the reed switch being connected to an alarm circuit which activates a visual or audible alarm if the switching rate exceeds a predetermined value. In an embodiment two reed switches are provided each independently connected to a two channel recorder. One of the switches is also connected to an alarm circuit which energizes the alarm, the rate of consumption at which the alarm is energized being adjustable by varying a reference voltage which is applied to the circuit and/or changing the components within the circuit. The Specification states that one of the switches may be used to control a switch determining on which channel the pulses from the other switch are recorded.
