Abstract

1,228,793. Forming fibrous webs. ELECTROMAG-NEIL Ltd. 16 Aug., 1968 [16 Aug., 1967], No. 37821/67. Heading D1N. An apparatus for producing a non-woven fibre mat on a foraminous conveyor 17 includes a spiked feed conveyor 10 which has a co-operating stripper 11 feeding fibres to the inlet 30 of a delivery passage 29 which is adjacent the foraminous conveyor 17 at its outlet end and is under the suction action of extraction means 20, the cross-sectional area of the inlet and outlet of the delivery passage. being independantly adjustable. The delivery passage is defined by a stationary tray at one side and by a belt 25 moving around adjustably positioned rolls 26, 27 which are adjacent the inlet and outlet ends of the passage.
