1,225,633. Polyurethane-coated wood. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 13 May, 1968 [12 May, 1967], No. 22525/68. Heading B2E. [Also in Division C3] Wood may be coated with a single or twocomponent polyurethane lacquer composition which comprises 5 to 100%. based on the weight of the solid polyurethane binder, of cellulose acetobutyrates having a hydroxyl content of 0.2 to 1.2% and a viscosity according to ASTM-D 871/56 Formula B (20% solution in acetone) of less than 0.5 seconds, and which yield 7 to 20% of acetic acid and 45 to 60% of butyric acid or hydrolysis. An Examples describes the coating of lacquer compositions onto oak.
