Abstract

1,222,627. Two-part couplings. AMP Inc. 23 Oct., 1969 [8 Nov., 1968], No. 51883/69. Addition to 1,160,509. Heading H2E. An electrical contact element for engagement with a tape cable, printed circuit board or the like, is held within an insulating housing by projection 4 and spring lances 5, and is provided with a wire crimping portion 3. A spring contact tongue 6 is cut from floor 1, and its free end 7 is positioned between limiting lugs 11, 12 formed on each sidewall 2. The lower lugs 12 are above the plane of the floor 1 and the sides of the central part 9 of the contact tongue 6 are swaged or chamfered.
