1,222,469. Knitting machine needles. THEODOR GROZ & SOEHNE & ERNST BECKERT NADELFABRIK COMMANDIT-GESELLSCHAFT. 17 Nov., 1969 [12 Feb., l969], No. 56102/69. Heading DIC. A knitting machine needle has a steel pivot pin 6 supporting a latch 4 which extends through a longitudinal slot 3 in the needle shank 8 the pin being rotatably mounted in holes 8 and having outer portions 5 of greater diameter than the central latch-supporting portion. The central portion may have a polygonal cross section to prevent relative rotation of the latch and pin. The pin is forced into the shape shown in the figure by upsetting.
