Abstract

1,221,588. Laminated tape. CANADIAN TECHNICAL TAPE Ltd. 7 June, 1968 [8 April, 1968], No. 27097/68. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions B1-B2] A reinforced securing tape 11 comprises a flexible base member 12 having a pair of opposed faces, a first adhesive 14 on one of said faces and a pressure sensitive adhesive 13 on the opposite face, reinforcing means 15 secured in said first adhesive on said one face, and a plastics film material 17 overlying said reinforcing means and adhesively bonded thereto, e.g. by pressure sensitive adhesive layer 16. The reinforcing means are preferably in the form of a series of parallel strands of glass or hemp fibres. The base member may be made of paper or plastics material, e.g. vinyl resins, polyethylene terephthalate or polyethylene. The film material may be polyethylene or plasticized polyvinyl chloride. The tape may be made by the method disclosed in Specification 1,221,589.
