Abstract

1,220,084. Spacing overhead conductors. METALASTIK Ltd. 1 March, 1968 [30 March, 1967], No. 14458/67. Heading H2C. Each conductor 15 is secured by a clamp 10 connected by a flexible joint 12 to an articulated frame 11 which includes at least one other flexible joint, the joints 12 permitting relative longitudinal movement of the cables, the frame joint(s) permitting relative transverse movement, the flexure of the rubber, in both cases, being mainly in shear. In the frame shown members 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 are connected by flexible joints 22, 23, 24, 25, 26. Stops limit the relative movement at the joints. The central part of the frame may be a single rectangle (Fig. 6), two triangles connected by parallel links (Fig. 3), three straight members forming an H (Fig. 7), two T members forming an H (Fig. 9) or four members forming a double X. The mass of the frame may be chosen to provide damping at a particular frequency. Specification 1,191,681 is referred to.
