Abstract

1,219,938. I.C. engine fuel injectors. CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO. May 15, 1968 [June 22, 1967], No. 23048/68. Heading F1B. A valve head 16 having a rounded shoulder 18 at its inner end is engageable with a valve seat 40 at the inner end of a valve chamber 32 having an axially-extending cylindrical wall portion 42 outwardly of and adjacent to the seat and a further cylindrical wall portion 42a of greater diameter. In the seated position of the valve head 16 fuel under pressure acts on the shoulder 18 radially inwardly of the seat and in the unseated position the wall portion 42 directs fuel to act against substantially all of the shoulder.
