Abstract

1,218,553. Masted lift trucks. MATBRO Ltd. 4 Nov., 1968 [4 Aug., 1967], No. 35895/67. Heading B8H. The mast assembly of a lift truck is tiltable about axes extending longitudinally and transversely of the truck and can be shifted laterally. As shown, bushes 17 on brackets 18 secured to the truck frame rotatably and slidably support a shaft 15 to which is secured at one end a pivot pin 14 and at the other end a plate 16. The mast assembly 10 is supported at one side on the pin 14 and at the other side on an hydraulic ram 20 pivotally connected between a bracket 21 on the mast assembly and the plate 16. A plate 26 secured to the fixed mast section 11 extends into a slot in the plate 16 to guide the assembly as it is tilted about the pin 14. The mast assembly may be tilted rearwardly about the axis of the shaft 15 by means of a further hydraulic ram (not shown). Collars 33 secured to the shaft 15 locate a further collar to which one end of a lever 31 is pivoted. The other end of the lever is pivoted to an hydraulic ram 28 connected to a bracket 29 on the truck frame. An anchor link is pivoted between the centre of the lever and a bracket on the truck frame. Actuation of the ram 28 causes transverse sliding movement of the shaft 15 in the bushes 17 and thus transverse movement of the mast assembly.
