Abstract

1,216,588. Knitting-machines. ,STSBBE MACHINERY Ltd. 15 Oct., 1969 [23 Oct., 1968], No. 50307/68. Heading D1C. In a multifeed circular knitting machine having tiltable selector jacks 24 which move needle jacks 14 and engage them with cam track JT in which patterning is provided at each feed by a component 30 secured to a bracket 27 which component has teeth or prongs which can be removed to produce a set pattern and out on the butts 24c of the selector jacks 24 to move them radially inwardly of the needle cylinder. The teeth are set at an angle to the direction of rotation of the needle cylinder to produce a smooth camming action. As shown in fig. 8 the cam 15 in cam track JT has a vertically movable portion 16 which if lowered allows the needle butts to be engaged by a rotatable cam 21 which can be placed in a position to knit, tuck or miss.
