1,216,393. Gunn effect amplifiers. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVER WERTUNGSS - G.m.b.H. 7 March, 1968 [4 April, 1967], No. 11125/68. Heading H3T. A Gunn effect amplifier has a load such that oscillation occurs only when there is applied both a bias voltage exceeding the critical value at which negative resistance occurs and a microwave oscillation having a frequency equal to the oscillation initiating frequency of the device and also has means for applying a signal to be amplified. The output may be taken off by a circulator and the input signal to be amplified may be pulse length or position modulated.
