Abstract

1,214,339. Folding apparatus. SCHNELLPRESSENFABRIK FRANKENTHAL ALBERT & CIE A.G. 31 Oct., 1968 [3 Nov., 1967] No. 51562/68. Heading B8R. A printed web 1 is cut into sheets by blades 9 on cutter cylinder 6, co-operating with resilient strips 10 on folding and collecting cylinder 7, the cut sheets being folded by cooperation of folding blades 21 with folding packets 20 on cylinder 19. The folding blades 21 and grippers 16 (for the leading edges of the sheets) are angularly adjustable on cylinder 7 with respect to the strips 10 to enable sheets of any desired length to be cut and folded. Brush roller 13 guides the leading edge of the web on to cylinder 7 and the sheets are held against the cylinder between cylinders 6 and 19 by belt 14 and pressure roller 24.
