Abstract

1,211,930. Suction cleaners. G. HERRE. 13 Dec., 1968 [27 Dec., 1967], No. 59378/68. Heading A4F. [Also in Division F4] Cleaning apparatus particularly for use in removing fluff, lint &c. from textile machines is constructed to operate either as a suction or as a blowing device. As shown a suction tube 1 and a blowing tube 2 are connected to a source of compressed air through a two-way valve 6. With the rotary valve member 13 of the two-way valve 6 in the position shown compressed air flows through bores 9 and 21 into bores 15 and 17 and thence into part 1a of the suction tube thereby producing a strong suction which draws fluff &c. off the textile machine and conveys it into a dust bag 7. Suitable pinching or bending of a flexible tube 18 attached to the end of tube 1a changes over the apparatus from a suction operation to a blowing operation. With the valve member 13 rotated via handle 14 so that the bore 22 in the valve is aligned with bore 9, the compressed air flows through the valve 6 into the blow tube 2 to be directed on to the textile machine where required. A pressure control switch 5 comprising a valve member 11 associated with a spring biased button 12 is provided in a handle 4 to interrupt the supply of compressed air.
