To facilitate changing cylinders in a rotatory photogravure printing press plate cylinder 1 and its bearings 2 are made as a unit which can be removed by rotating bushes 3, in which the bearings 2 are eccentrically mounted by worms 5 until radial slots in the bushes 3 are aligned with openings in end supports 4, 4<SP>1</SP>. Couplings 20 are then released, by undoing bolts 19, and the unit 1, 2 rolled out of position. Axial adjustment of the cylinder is by movement relative to the bushes 3, in consequence of rotation of hand wheel 14. Contact pressure of the cylinder 1 against a co-operating impression cylinder may be adjusted independently at its two ends by rotation of hand wheels 9, 11, while their mount 12 is locked to support 4<SP>1</SP>. Locking of the hand wheels 9, 11, to mount 12, and freeing of mount 12, allows both bushes 3 to be rotated together, driven by worms 5 and gears 6, 7, for changing of cylinder 1.
