Abstract

[Also in Divisions B1-B2] Liquid fuel burner nozzles comprise a radially symmetrical chamber 21 having at least one tangentially directed inlet 34 and an axially aligned outlet tube 24 such that gas entering the chamber through said inlet is caused to rotate within the chamber and the outlet tube, and liquid feed means 22 located axially within the outlet tube for spraying under pressure at least one jet of liquid fuel centrifugally into the periphery of the rotating gas. The liquid feed means may comprise an axial tubular member 22 having a closed downstream end and one or more radially-disposed peripheral ports 36 adjacent to the closed end. The downstream end of outlet tube may have a conical taper 38.
