Abstract

1,210,159. Feeding and delivering sheets. K. RœNZI. 2 Aug., 1968 [11 Aug., 1967], No. 37090/68. Heading B8R. Sheets are fed to a machine such as an addressing-machine 40, Fig. 1, from a pile 46 on a table 4 by means of separator rollers 35, 37 which are rotated when an electromagnet 31, Fig. 2, is energized by the machine to form a belt 18 continuously driven by a motor 17 against a roller 30. A soft rubber strip 8 prevents double feed, and the table is adjustable by a screw 6 about a pivot 5 according to the thickness of the sheets. The separated sheets are passed to driven rollers 11, 13, Figs. 1 and 3, and thence to the operating position of the machine on a table 23. The separated sheet engages the feeler 39 of a micro-switch 38 to de-energize the magnet 31. An over-riding clutch allows a long sheet to be fed by the rollers 11, 13 while still engaged by the roller 35 when no longer driven. Delivering sheets.-After operation on the sheet, an electromagnet 25 is energized and a slide 27 pushes the sheet into engagement with belts 21 running on wheels 15, whereby the sheet is carried by the lower rim of the belt to a receiver.
