Abstract
1,208,987. Looms. A. MATTAR JUN. 1 May, 1968 [3 May, 1967], No. 20547/68. Heading D1E. A picking motion for a loom, which may be a vertical loom, comprises a shuttle race 3 having rows of rollers 1 which drive the shuttle 14. The race is movable to insert the rollers through the warp sheet for picking and to withdraw them for beat-up. The rollers are driven by a belt 5 to have a motion which is faster at the centre of the shed. The shuttle 14 is of plastics material and has internal springs 16 to bow its walls into contact with the rollers.
