A placer mounted in the dial of a multifeed cylinder and dial machine to facilitate the introduction of the yarn to the needles is controlled by a cam track separate from the needle cam track. The track is fixed relative to the cylinder needle cam track so that the relative disposition is maintained during delayed as well as synchronous timing.
