Abstract
1,207,899. Paper. MONSANTO CO. 21 Feb., 1968 [21 Feb., 1967], No. 8465/68. Heading D2B. [Also in Division H1] Electroconductive sheet material for use in a photo-conductive or electro-conductive reproducing, recording or printing process, comprises a fibrous base sheet having dispersed therein a mixture of a sulphonated polymer of a vinylaromatic or a water-soluble salt thereof with a water-soluble salt of sulphuric or sulphamic acid. The base sheet is preferably a paper of cellulosic or synthetic fibres, the polymer a sulphonated polystyrene, and the salts of alkali metals, ammonia or amines, particularly alkanolamines. The additives may be added to the pulp before sheeting to the nearly dry paper after its formation, or to finished paper as a solution in water or methanol. They may be used in association with pigments, opacifiers, fillers, extenders, dyes and sizes.
