Abstract

1,207,683. Knitting-machines. V. J. LOMBARDI. 25 Sept., 1967 [19 June, 1967], No. 44613/68. Divided out of 1207682. Heading D1C. A circular knitting machine has a substantially horizontal upper surface on the needle cylinder to support sinkers or other knitting elements and a removably mounted bearing member 46 attached to the cylinder to form a second horizontal upper surface, which bearing member is supported on the upper surface of the needle cylinder by spacing elements 55 which define horizontal channels 'between the bearing member and the needle cylinder. Lint and dust can be blown downwardly via channels 36 and passageways 38. Grooves 69 with angled portions 70 provide means for lubricating the needles.
