Compression engines. - In radialcylinder engines, two or three cylinders, or multiples thereof, have pistons connected to a central crank K and to two outside c r a n k s L which make with the central crank an angle of one hundred and eighty degrees. In V-type engines, one piston F has an ordinary connecting-rod H, and the other piston F has a rod I forked as shown at N. A four-stroke internal-combustion engine with three cylinders has a crank-shaft comprising a central crank and two outside cranks arranged as shown in Fig. 3. The cylinders can be set at forty-five or sixty degrees so that the impulses take place every two hundred and forty degrees.
