1,205,541. Tamper proof caps. F. W. F. VON HOHENZOLLERN, [trading as FURSTLICH HOHENZOLLERNSCHE HUTTENVERWALTUNG LAUCHERTHAL]. 3 Jan., 1969 [12 Jan., 1968; 10 Sept., 1968], No. 570/69. Heading B8T. A bottle cap 20 comprises a head 21 with a lifting projection 22 and a skirt 23 with a peripherally extending tab 25 attached to the skirt by a projection 30 at one end and by a frangible web 26 at the other. A weakened portion 28 extends peripherally around the cap just below an interior bead 27 on the head portion. A further weakened portion (29), Fig. 4 (not shown), extends from an opening (33) below the projection 30 to the lower edge of the skirt 23. Above the opening (33) in the skirt 23 a groove (32), Fig. 5 (not shown), in the bead 27 allows fluid to escape during insertion of the cap on to the bottle. The gap between the tab 25 and the projection 22 is so small as to prevent the interlocking of caps in storage. Instead of removal of the entire skirt, a tear strip may be incorporated to separate the head from the skirt.
