Abstract
1,205,456. Refining oils. SUN OIL CO. 17 Nov., 1967 [17 Nov., 1966], No. 52443/67. Heading C5E. In a process of refining lubricating and processing oils comprising hydrogenating them with hydrogen over a sulphactive catalyst at a temperature of 450‹ F. to below 650‹ F., a pressure of 100 to 4000 p.s.i.g., and at L.H.S.V.s of 0.1 to 5, the feed is introduced at a throughput which obtains at 25 to 98% of flooding velocity. The examples relate to naphthenic lube oils. The catalyst is conventional.
