Abstract

1,200,832. Contacting gases with liquids PACKARD INSTRUMENT CO. Inc. 16 May, 1968 [16 May, 1967; 25 March, 1968 (2)], No. 23229/68. Heading B1R. [Also in Division G6] A reaction column 74 with a smooth curvilinear configuration is used for trapping CO 2 containing <SP>14</SP>CO 2 passing up the column with liquid containing ethanolamine introduced at 76. Because of the smooth contours, the liquid forms a layer on the surface of the column 74. The liquid can be discharged through 73 by operating valve 70 to cause the gas to flow down through column 74.
