Abstract

1,200,394. Cigarette &c. packets. H. F. TODMAN and E. COOPER, [trading as TODMAN COOPER CO.]. 7 Oct., 1968 [27 Oct., 1967], No. 47394/68. Heading B8P. A packet of stiff paper for cigarettes &c. comprises an open-ended shell 16 separated symmetrically along three faces by cuts 32, 36, Fig. 1, into two parts, so that it may be folded back to the position shown in Fig. 2, and has a tray 30, Fig. 3, in each shell part. Each tray has a notched end 46 &c. so that when the tray has been pushed down to the level of a cut line 34, Fig. 2, a cigarette &c. 58 may be readily withdrawn. The fourth or back face of the shell 16 has perforations 38 to facilitate hinging; by tearing along the perforations, the two parts of the shell are separated. Arrows 60, 62 indicate the direction cigarettes &c. are pulled out of the packet and the direction the tray 30 is pushed down in the shell 16. The packet may be wrapped in a transparent covering bearing labelling &c. information.
