Abstract

1,198,738. Tracheal tube. DOW CORNING CORP. 4 Sept., 1968 [25 Oct., 1967], No. 41977/68. Heading A5R. A tracheal device 9 for use in infants comprises a flexible tube 11 with a transversely extending flexible flange 12 at the proximal end, including upwardly extending arms 13 for receiving a neck band and a downwardly extending tongue 14. The tube is held in place in an incision in the throat into the trachea by the neck band and arms 13 and tongue 14 which contact the throat. End 20 may make an acute angle with the axis of the tube for easy insertion into the trachea. The tube may be made of silicone rubber which may be radio opaque.
