A food mould loader comprises an upstanding frame 1, a carriage 11 to support a mould 12, the carriage moving along and above the frame to adjacent one end thereof, at which end there is a transverse axis fulcrum roller 19, which is engaged by the filled mould when it is manually slid from the carriage to assume a generally upstanding but tilted position, a platform 21 ahead of and below but facing the roller to receive the mould, the platform being mounted for restrained downward movement from its initial position to a horizontal position, for example under control of pneumatic cylinder 23.
