[Also in Division B7] A single davit 1 supports a buoy 50 from the deck of a ship so that at the point of suspension 24 of the buoy two falls 19, 20 are connected to the buoy, fall 19 extending from point of suspension 24 to a sheave 22 mounted near the top of the davit arm, the other fall 20 extending from point 24 to sheave 23 mounted at a distance from sheave 22, and throughout the time the davit arm is in the outboard position fall 19 extends upwards in a direction away from the ship, fall 20 extending upwards towards the ship. In the outboard position both falls support the buoy but in the inboard position fall 19 alone supports the buoy.
