Abstract
1,193,761. Hammer mills. CHARBONNAGES DE FRANCE. 27 June, 1968 [30 June, 1967], No. 30737/68. Heading B2A. [Also in Division F4] The temperature of a fluidized bed in a grinding apparatus is maintained constant. The apparatus comprises a hot gas generator or combustion chamber 2, Fig. 1, a vertical rectangular cross-section fluidising chamber hawing a pyramidal upwardly diverging base, a hot gas conduit formed in two parts joined by a convergent-divergent section 6 means, a screw conveyor 9, Fig. 2, to supply material into the hot gas conduit between the convergent-divergent portion 6 and the base of the fluidisation chamber, a hammer rotor 12 with a horizontal shaft 17, in the lower part of the fluidization chamber, an evacuation conduit 19 having a crosssection smaller than that of the fluidisation chamber and means including a sensor 22 to maintain the fluidised bed at a substantially constant temperature. Pulverized products are taken to a pair of cyclones 3, 4, to remove dust. Temperature is measured by the sensor 22 and either controls the speed of the screw-feed motor 24 or the fuel supply to the burner of the combustion chamber 2.
