Abstract
1,193,485. Triglycidyl isocyanurate. HENKEL & CIE, G.m.b.H. 6 Oct., 1967 [30 Nov., 1966], No. 45722/67. Heading C3B. A mixture which is hardenable at room temperature comprises: (a) 60-90 parts by wt. of a crystalline triglycidyl isocyanurate containing at least 14% by wt. of epoxide oxygen (TGI) and/or a modified glycidyl isocyanurate having an epoxide oxygen content of 8-14%; (b) 10-40 parts by wt. of a mono- or bi-valent epoxy compound having a M.W. up to 450; and (c) 20-200 parts by wt. of an organic amino compound. The modified glycidyl isocyanurate may be obtained by reacting TGI with monohydric phenols or thiophenols, by reacting TGI with mono- or di-valent carboxylic acids or epoxidized carboxylic acids, or by reaction of TGI with a primary amine. (b) preferably has a viscosity < 2000 cp. at 25‹ C. (c) may be present so as to provide one amino hydrogen atom to each epoxy group in (a). Conventional fillers, pigments and dyestuffs may be present.
