Abstract
1,193,344. Control of D.C. motors. F. JUNGHEINRICH, [trading as H. JUNGHEINRICH & CO. MASCHINENFABRIK]. 15 Aug., 1967 [30 Sept., 1966], No. 37559/67. Heading H2J. Reversal of a D.C. motor is prevented until it has at least nearly come to rest from its first direction of rotation by an arrangement of relay contacts 30, 31 in series with the energizing coils 11, 14 of direction contactors, the relay contacts being held open by means responsive to the residual voltage generated while the motor continues to rotate. The motor is a series machine whose field 4 is across the diagonal of a bridge arrangement of contacts 9, 10 and 12, 13 of forward and reverse contactors 11, 14. When direction is selected at switch 26 the appropriate contactor 11 or 14 is energized but also a relay 28 or 29 in the opposite contactor circuit is energized through 26 and opens interlock contact 30 or 31. If switch 26 is changed over the relay is held energized by the conduction of a transistor 37 which receives pulses from a pulse former 45 so long as the output of an amplifier 18 is above a threshold value. The amplifier 18 amplifies the A.C. component (ripple) of the voltage produced while the armature rotates.
