Abstract

1,193,256. Retaining gudgeon pins. WELLWORTHY Ltd. 6 June, 1967 [8 June, 1966], No. 25499/66. Headings F2H and F2T. A retaining device for locating a gudgeon pin in a circular bore 5 in a piston 6 comprises a strip 1 of resilient material having curved ends 2 which engage in diametrically opposed recesses 7 in the piston. The strip, which is made, for example, of spring steel, is bent along two zones 4 and has a length slightly greater than the distance between the bases of the recesses 7 to maintain the strip under compression. To facilitate the fitting and removing of the strip it is provided with a slot 3 for engagement with a tool (not shown).
