Abstract

1,189,477. Textile oils. KAO SOAP CO. Ltd. 1 Aug., 1967, No. 35218/67. Heading C5F. An antistatic lubricant for treating synthetic fibres comprises an oil in water-emulsion containing 5-30 wt. per cent of a composition comprising 10-50 wt. per cent-of the sodium salt of a 1-carboxyethoxyethyl-2-alkyl-2-imidazoline, 40-80% of a mineral oil or an aliphatic acid ester such as octyl oleate or a mixture of sorbitan trioleate with sorbitan monooleate, and 0-40% of an anionic or non- ionic surface-active agent or a mixture thereof. A higher alcohol, e.g. oleyl alcohol, a higher aliphatic acid, amine or amide, may be included as an emulsifying aid. Suitable surface-active agents are a mixture of polyoxyethylene lauryl ether with sodium petroleum sulphonate, and polyoxyethylenated castor oil.
